Drunk driving affects everyone who shares the road. Uber and Mothers Against Drunk Driving are working together to end alcohol related crashes and make our roads safer for everyone.

Making Our Roads Safer — for Everyone

Since 2012, nearly 300,000 people have driven drunk every day, and it’s estimated that every 52 minutes, someone is killed in an drunk driving crash.

Drunk-driving and alcohol-related crashes are a scourge on our society. They wreck lives, shatter families and put communities and innocent bystanders at risk. Uber and MADD are working toward a world where a reliable ride is always within reach; where more options empower more people to make the right choice; and where families waiting on loved ones don’t have to worry about whether they’ll make it home safely.

A first-of-its-kind, comprehensive study examining Uber and ridesharing's impact on attitudes and behaviors surrounding drunk-driving reveals that Uber is more than just a convenient transportation option — it’s also a powerful tool in the fight to reduce the rate of drunk driving crashes.

When empowered with more transportation options, people make the right choice.
